About Semaphore Hill Community Garden

Semaphore Hill is a council-backed community garden, transformed from reclaimed council land and buildings. 

The purpose of the community garden is to cultivate sustainability and foster deep social connections within the Semaphore Hill Community.

Our vision is to create an open and welcoming garden where everyone in the community to grow, learn, and socialize together

Our Membership Process

Learn about our process for integrating new members into our gardening community, ensuring a smooth transition and active participation.

Become a Member
Purchase a 6 or 12 Month membership online via the get involved page or by visiting the garden in person

Pick a Plot
After becoming a member, you will receive an email from the community garden with a map of available plots. Simply reply with the plot number you want

Attend Workshops
We host weekly workshops and information sessions that range from planting basics, like testing your soil health, to community favourites like our monthly seedling swap. Whether you want to become a master of your plot or just want to engage with your community over a morning cuppa, there’s an event for everyone.

Provide Feedback
We always welcome and encourage helpful feedback, and we love hearing our members recommendations for future workshop topics If you have any ideas or recommendationsplease email the garden or speak to the staff so we can all grow together as a community
